The Treasure Hunt
Sometimes when grandpa is watching TV he gets a secret clue, There’s a treasure to be found somewhere and he’s off to find it too.
So out of his chair he climbs to begin his epic search, He moves to the center of the room where next he takes a perch.
He stands and stares until the next inspiration for him will strike, Then around his house he starts his search on his next uncharted hike.
First he’s off to the bedroom to confirm that his bed is still in there, Then he goes to the den and to his desk and sits down in the chair.
Finding nothing there he moves on to where he goes to take a bath, It’s a place that he knows all too well and he follows a well worn path.
Then it’s off to the kitchen for a look and there what does he spy?
What is there for him to find, but two pieces of mom’s Dutch apple pie.
Is this the original treasure that he set off to find?
If I say that it is, it’s only me trying to be kind.
The real answer is, that if it is or not, I don’t know or even care, Because he’s brought two forks with him and now he’s willing to share.
