Still You
When I'd lost hope you dried my tears
You sat with me through many fears
Such wisdom in the words you penned
Much time you'd spent on souls to mend
Your loving arms around my child
For all his firsts - oh how you smiled
You kept our history, our family tree
Of what had been and what would be
But all these memories both good and bad
God chose to take early - for Mom? for Dad?
As noble as it was was to give
What's left for you? what helps you live?
Your eyes still say you know I care
Your heart still says you want me there
Though many may not think it's true
I know for sure: you still are you.
