Hear Here

Last night grandpa spent the time searching both high and low,
I asked what he was looking for but I wasn't sure that he would know.

"I'm looking for my hearing aids I need one in each ear,
Without them I'm completely deaf there's nothing I can hear."

"Can you hear me now?" I asked him as he continued on his way,
"Of course I can." he said as his face displayed dismay.

"If you check your ears I think you'll find the aids that you're looking for,"
Feeling them there he stopped his search and didn't look for them any more.

But then he took them out and set them on his bedroom dresser,
He said that they were causing his head to suffer from high pressure.

After a while he started to complain, "I haven't heard a thing that you've said,"
"I think I'll take my hearing aids out. The batteries must be going dead."

I started to tell him about where it was that he had set them down,
But then I gave up when I realized that he couldn't hear a sound.

When he came out of his room he was wearing a hearing aid in each ear,
"I'm glad that I decided to take them out because now I'm able to hear."
