What is the Alzheimer’s Association doing in Massachusetts and New Hampshire?

  • Providing a 24/7/365 HELPLINE that is free and confidential – we help more than 7,000 people a year

  • Educating families, caregivers and professionals about how to manage the disease  

  • Easing the challenge for family caregivers with nearly 200 support groups in MA/NH

  • Increasing public awareness by working with the media to get information to those who need it

  • Supporting research through a national grants program that has awarded more than $265 million to date

  • Advocating for quality care—we successfully achieved passage of regulations that require universal standards for dementia care in assisted living facilities; we are working on passage of similar regulations for nursing homes.  This year we have also achieved passage of a Silver Alert bill to help protect wandering seniors with dementia.
